The THIBAUT T-500 Automatic Slab polisher can now be used to produce the new surface finishes requested in the marketplace: Granite & Marble polishing, Honing, Antique-Brushing, and Roller-Plate Bushhammering. Need calibration? --this too can be done by adding our positive mechanical stop to hold the grinding head at a precise level for shaving the surface.
Granite polishing requires a strong and rigid machine to achieve original factory gloss. The Thibaut features a cast-iron bridge and cast head support, together with a 200-lb Tangential Oscillating 6-brick head to do the really hard grinding. The strength and speed of the machine achieves a productivity of approximately 30 square feet per hour on the back side of the slab, higher productivity if repolishing a scratched face. Productivity rates for Antique-Brushing depends on the level of depth and degree of color desired, from a “leather” look to a deeper, richer texture.
The machine exists in two basic widths, with rail length starting at 19 feet and expandable to nearly unlimited length (see quotation for details).
The Operating Controls permit choice of down pressure, RPM, movements (perimeter, rectangular, and zig-zag) to realize the best performance on the material type. For each stone (marble, granite, travertine, etc), the operator can save these operating parameters and be able to replicate a particular finish from slab to slab, month to month.
Another feature is the optional Head Changer : with this system, the machine can work completely unattended or even during the night.
